Elementary is participating in the non-perishable food drive sponsored by Mesick High School NHS. The last chance to donate is tomorrow, December 4th, at 8:30 a.m. Our total of donations from the elementary as of today is 1,360. The class with the highest will win an ice cream reward party, currently in 1st place is Mrs. Brechenser with 236. In 2nd is Mrs. MacEachern with 212, 3rd is Mrs. Parrish with 184, 4th is Mrs. Bailey with 105, and in 5th place is Mrs. Shermak with 101. Thank you for all of your donations!

Board of Education Vacancy The Mesick Consolidated School District is seeking applications for the current vacant position on the board of education. An individual will be appointed to fill the vacant position through December 31, 2026 and will be replaced by the individual elected to the position (based upon the November 3, 2026 election results) on January 1, 2027 for a two-year term. Interested persons must submit a letter expressing interest in the board position and their qualifications for the position to the superintendent’s office no later than 3:00 p.m. on December 2, 2024. For hand delivery, the superintendent’s office is located in the JR/SR high school building at 581 S. Clark Street in Mesick. If mailing, please address envelope to Mr. Jason Abraham, Mesick Consolidated Schools, PO Box 275, Mesick, Michigan 49668 (please allow sufficient time for mailing, if received after the deadline, applicants will not be considered). Following a review of the submitted materials, the board will schedule interviews with selected candidates. To be eligible, a person must be a qualified school elector. This means that the applicant must be a registered voter in the school district.

Hey Mesick Families, Would your family benefit from the SEEDS EcoSchool program? Here at EcoSchool we offer after-school programming for K-6th grades, Monday-Thursday until 6:00PM. SEEDS is an Ecology based program that provides Snack, Recess, Homework Help, Dinner, and Activity Time daily. Welcome Mrs. Angela Haselton to the Bulldog Family! Mesick Elementary is excited to welcome Mrs. Angela Haselton to our team as a paraprofessional. Angela is a long-time resident of Mesick and a proud graduate of Mesick High School. She is married and has three wonderful boys, along with a dog named Rue. In her free time, Angela enjoys crocheting, spending quality time with her family, and participating in outdoor activities. We are thrilled to have her on board and look forward to the positive impact she will make at Mesick Elementary.
