A Message from Mesick Summer Rec: Summer Rec Sign-up forms were sent home this week with your child. You can also get a copy of our sign-up form on our website @ mesicksummerrecball.com under the “sign-up form” tab. You can also reach out via Facebook or email anytime and we will provide a copy for you. Money and form can be sent back to school with your child and will be picked up from the office. If you prefer to meet in person we can also set up something with you. You can also sign up on our website. Please note there is a fee for online sign-ups. Our early bird pricing is $35.00 per player. That price will increase starting on March 9th to $40.00 per player. After March 22nd the price will increase to $50.00 per player. Tonight's basketball games, 1/26/24, are still on. Girls Varsity HOME vs. Big Rapids Crossroads with a start time of 6PM. Boys Varsity AWAY vs. Bear Lake with an approximate 7:30PM start time.

1/17/24 - Tonight's JH Girls Basketball game at Suttons Bay has been cancelled due to deteriorating road conditions there.

We were hoping the third time would be a charm, but instead, it's "three strikes you're out." The third through fifth grade concert is officially canceled for tonight. There will be no reschedule as this was our third scheduled date. Look for a recorded version being sent home in the next 7 days.

With the incoming weather tonight's, 1/12/24, Varsity Boys Basketball game is cancelled and all practices have been cancelled as well.

ATTENTION PARENTS: 3rd-5th Grade Boys Basketball Sign up! If interested turn in the slip sent home today to the teacher by Friday, January 19, 2024, including the parent's name and number. Coaches and practice schedules are yet to be determined. Games will be held on Saturdays for 5 weeks starting February 17th. WE ARE IN NEED OF A VOLUNTEER COACH FOR 3RD AND 4TH GRADE. Boys Jv/Varsity Basketball game at Pentwater is a go for tonight. Bus time is 3:45pm for players.

Varsity Girls Basketball game for today, 1/9/24, has been cancelled due to weather. All practices have been cancelled for today.

Students in the sixth grade Communications class spent Thursday making SLIME! It was a lesson in patience and following directions and will be followed up with a slime themed grammar activity.

The Publications Class will be selling yearbooks during HS lunch all next week (1/8-1/12). Yearbooks will be sold for $30.

You can now access the Elementary and Jr/Sr High breakfast and lunch menus on the website nutrislice.com. Click the menu lookup and search for Mesick Consolidated Schools. Select the school and choose either breakfast or lunch. You can also download the Nutrislice app.

PTO meets next Monday January 8th in the elementary library, 3:30pm! Want to help but can't make it to the meeting? Great! We will be updating our Mesick PTO Facebook page with notes from the meeting and more ways to help. It takes a village to raise a child, let's do it!

Mesick Consolidated Schools Our Mission: Develop Successful Learners Critical Thinkers Productive Citizens On the surface this seems simple and easy. However, as educators we are tasked with shaping the way our students think, behave, and see the world. All of this must be done within the framework of the classroom sessions and academic lessons. We must balance modeling and building great relationships with our students while holding them accountable and teaching them what responsible behavior looks like. Beginning in January, we will be sending a series of surveys asking for your input on a variety of school related subjects, including student cell phone use, communication, and safety. If there are other topics or points of interest that you feel need to be addressed, please contact me by email or phone.
