Mrs. Parrish's 2nd graders took some time to "find friends" that shared similar interests with them. This activity allowed us to fit in some movement and start to build our classroom community!
Attention Parents of 6th-12th grade students. The adolescent wellness center is having a drawing for a $25 gift card. Just stop by the JR/SR High office to fill out a consent form for your student by this Friday and your name will be entered in the drawing.
A few sports announcements: First we would like to wish good luck to our JV Football team as they are playing their season opener in Mio tonight. Secondly, the Varsity Football team has their home opener tomorrow evening at 7:00 pm in Mesick. We hope to see everyone out to support them. Also, our JV/V Volleyball teams have their home opener Tuesday, September 3rd in Mesick at 5:30 pm (originally 6pm). Cross Country will host their home opener on Wednesday, September 18th at 4:15 in Mesick. We are very excited about our Fall sports teams and we are hoping to see everyone out showing their support!!
Mesick Elementary and Mesick Junior/Senior High School would like to remind of our Open House on Wednesday, August 28 from 5:00-7:00 PM. We will be serving dinner from 5:00-6:30. We are looking forward to seeing everyone.

Mesick Alumni Women's Volleyball Game this Saturday, August 24th at 5 pm in the High School Gym! $25 to register. Spectator Admission $3 or $10/family. All proceeds will go to the Mesick Volleyball program.
The Junior High Football Team will have equipment handout out tomorrow evening from 5 - 8 pm. Please make sure that a physical is present at equipment handout if you have one completed. Also, there will be a Parents Meeting at 8:00 pm tomorrow night for the parents of Varsity, JV, and JH players. It is highly recommended to attend this meeting if you are able too. Reminder to students and parents that this Wednesday, August 21, 2019 is the student schedule release between the hours of 1-7 PM at Mesick JR/SR High School. Please bring in your updated and signed student information sheets, which were mailed home earlier this summer, in order to receive a class schedule. It's very important that your student's information is up to date annually. There will be a 9th grade parent meeting at 4 PM and a 6th grade parents meeting at 5:30 PM. Attached to the students schedules this year you will find a form that needs to be completed for all students; this is a form that is required for the Community Eligibility Provision which provides all students with a healthy breakfast and lunch at NO CHARGE. Picture forms will also be attached. Mesick JR/SR High pictures will be on Friday, September 6, 2019. Other optional forms and information will be available as well.

We wanted to let you know that we will be implementing a new system to help keep our 6th and 7th grade students organized. Mesick Schools will be providing our 6th and 7th grade students with a binder, folders and a pencil pouch. Students in 6th and 7th grade will not have to purchase these items.

The week 3 home game vs GTA has also been cancelled. We have rescheduled this contest and will travel to Onekama on September 12th for a 6pm kickoff. With Fall Sports quickly approaching it is important that all student-athletes have a signed and completed physical to hand to their head coach on the first day of practice. Student-athletes failing to provide a physical will not be allowed to practice. Forms are available in the HS office or at MHSAAA.com. Varsity Cross Country, Football, and Volleyball begin practice on Monday, August 12th. Junior High Football and Volleyball practice will begin Monday, August 26h.
