Our Varsity Volleyball team finished 3rd place overall in the conference while the JV Volleyball team finished 2nd. Also, many of you are already aware that our Varsity Football team is playing tonight for sole possession of the conference championship. Kickoff is at 7pm in Brethren vs Bear Lake. Also a reminder: Junior High Boys Basketball practice will begin Thursday at 5:30 pm at the elementary school. This will be for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade boys. There will also be an optional open gym session from 10 am to Noon every Sunday with Coach Hall in the High School gym. We hope to see you at the game tonight and have a great weekend!
Today, the 5th grade traveled to the Platte River Fish Hatchery to learn more about the salmon and their life cycle. The Platte River Hatchery is the main egg-take location for coho in the Upper Great Lakes.
Today the 3rd grade class participated in the Red Cross Pillowcase Project. Students were taught what to do in emergency situations then given a pillowcase to be filled with emergency supplies. Lastly, students were able to color the pillowcase to make it their own. Thanks to the Red Cross for visiting our school.
It was cold and wet, but homecoming ended with the boys football team bringing home a big win. Meanwhile, the combined Mesick Junior and Senior High Bands performed at the game. Congratulations to the Homecoming King and Queen - Joseph Stewart and Elizabeth Hamilton!
Due to the heavy rain in the forecast for 5:00 pm, we will be cancelling the homecoming parade scheduled for today. The heaviest part of today's storm is scheduled to hit at 5:00 pm and last for about one hour. We are making the announcement early so the kids are able to catch their bus ride home. The kids have put their school spirit on full display today and it truly has been special to see! Make sure to come out to show your support for our boys tonight as they attempt to make history against Brethren at 7:00 pm!
