October is college application month in Michigan. Many colleges waive their application fees, so it’s a great time for seniors to apply. College application workshops were held in senior English classes this week, and seniors began the financial aid application process. We are so proud of our seniors and excited to see their future plans developing!

In the education world, there are some names that draw attention nationally. Bryan Skavnak of Be the Nice Kid is one of those. If you've been in our cafeterias, you know his quotes are painted on the walls. For him to give Mesick a shout out is a pretty big deal! Thank you to Bryan, and thanks to our own Mesick Bulldogs for making us so proud!

As may have heard, there was an accident on M-115 near N. 9 Road after school today involving one of our buses. Our bus was rear-ended by another vehicle. Thankfully, no one was injured and all students were transferred to another bus and driven home. . The driver of the bus was uninjured and able to remain calm and support the students as they awaited the arrival of the other bus. Mr. Akom, Mr. Fowler and Mr. Charnes all went to the scene to assist in safely transferring the students to the other bus. Once again, we are very thankful that no one was injured and that all of our students are safe.

First Graders went on a leaf hunt this week, we used them to make fall collages. We have talked about seasons and why trees change colors.
