Dear Mesick Families,
I am sure most of you are aware that the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services ordered new COVID restrictions that will continue to impact Mesick High School. This new order states that Mesick High School students, 9th-12th grade, will be learning remotely through Sunday, December 20th. All athletics and co-curricular activities will continue to be suspended. The Michigan High School Athletic Association will be meeting on Wednesday, December 9th, and will share further guidance regarding high school athletics at that time. Food will continue to be distributed to all 9-12th grade students on Mondays from 9:00-9:30 at the Jr/Sr High School by the rear kitchen/service door. We will continue to work with our local health department to evaluate COVID numbers and will notify our parents when staff or students have tested positive.
We will continue to welcome our K-8th grade students to our school buildings to learn face to face. All Mesick students and staff will continue to wear masks and all safety protocols continue to be in place. I want to thank you for all of your continued support and ask that you respectfully continue partnering with us in finding the balance in providing a safe learning environment and educating all of our students during this health crisis.
Please continue to watch for further updates.
If you have any questions as we work through challenges during these extraordinary times, please feel free to contact me via email at akoms@mesick.org or by phone at (231)885-1200.
Blessed to be a Bulldog,
Scott Akom
