Mesick Consolidated Schools, currently with slightly less than 600 students, was formed in the early 1960’s and combines families living in the Northwestern Lower Michigan villages of Boon, Copemish, Harrietta, Mesick and Yuma, as well as the surrounding countryside. The school community is small and we pride ourselves on having a family atmosphere with a deep sense of caring and compassion for one another.

Students come first at Mesick. Each student is valued as an individual and receives personalized attention from our caring and dedicated teachers and support staff. We do an excellent job of supporting the social, emotional, and mental health of our students with a gr. 6-12 counselor, two school social workers, and a mental health clinician.

School-wide, all staff members are in the 3rd year of implementation of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), an approach focusing on prevention, not punishment, by first teaching students about behavioral expectations and strategies.
